Big Day For #TeamBelieve

I’m here with my superhero wife, Rebekah, and we are driving to UC Health for my second cycle bone marrow biopsy and lumbar puncture, which we’re praying are going to look really good so that I am clear to be admitted into the hospital on Friday for my bone marrow transplant on the 21st.
In the same moment, in another car, my mom, who was also my hero, and my amazing sister, Lisa, who is my donor. My sister has to go in today for seven to nine hours of having her STEM cells pulled from her blood, her blood returned into her body, and this continual process of pulling STEM cells out of her body to be put in mine. And what’s going to happen on the 21st is that I will have two donors, my sister and an umbilical cord –some beautiful lady who had a baby girl has donated her umbilical cord to me. I’m so deeply grateful. And so it’s a big day to day. It’s a big day. It’s a big week. it’s a big, big road ahead. Beckie, what do you have to say?
I just want to say thank you to everybody that supported my beautiful wife. That’s very close to my face, Bubba. I want to say thank you to my wife for just how strong and brave and unbelievable she’s being. She just, I can’t even express how proud I am of her. I wouldn’t have been this bright. I thought I was pretty brave, but she is just shown such courage and such productivity, and she’d be at work every day and living, and I’m so proud of her and her sister Lisa, who not only hates hospitals, she hates needles. And she’s giving her time and she’s given her life to help my wife’s life to her. So it’s pretty amazing.
Thanks, Beckie. To my superhero wife. My incredible sister, my incredible mom, my horses, my dogs, and my cat. To my dear friends, you know who you are and all of you, loved heals, everybody. Love truly heals. You have all filled my heart. I feel your prayers. I feel your thoughts. I feel your love and it keeps me strong and keeps me brave and keeps me courageous. And most importantly. It makes me so incredibly determined and absolutely certain that I will conquer this cancer because I have so much more work to do in this world. I have so much more love to give and I have so much more joy to experience. So to all of you, thank you. I love you. I’m praying that today goes amazingly well and we can move forward and I can be back in the world with all of you sharing love and light. And living this incredible gift of life that we’ve all been blessed with.
We love you.
